Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects both children and adults. It is a combined pattern of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning or development.

ADHD can affect school or work performance, relationships, and self-esteem. This condition is classified into three subtypes: predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and combined presentation.

There is no exact cause of ADHD, not fully understood, but researchers believe that it is a result of combined genetic, environmental, and neurological factors.
There is no cure for ADHD, the disorder can be managed effectively with a combination of treatments. At Serenity Family Psychiatry, we provide treatments including behavioral therapy, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to reduce the impact of symptoms on daily life and improve functioning in school, work, and relationships.
